Beginning early last month, Advisory Committee members and others began distributing two “Mini-Polls” - short, eight-question surveys covering key planning topics for Southern Pines.
Even though they’re still being distributed (and will be through the summer), here are some initial results, taken from the 165 or so replies thus far.
Note that results from both questionnaires are charted by area of residence - those living in Southern Pines, those living in the ETJ, and those living somewhere outside both areas. There’s a table with combined results, too, and all comments provided for each question are included at the back of the documents.
Interesting stuff, and even if they’re informal and advisory by nature, they do seem to show some strong thoughts on at least two important topics: Downtown, and Southern Pines’ “Horse Country.”
Haven’t taken part yet? Download and fill out a form on-line here and here, or look for volunteers and our booth at area events, including First Friday, and the upcoming Black Art Festival. As always, copies are available at the Downtown Drop-in Center.
